… but the Police took one look at the crowd, and made the decision at just after 11 o’clock to shut down Colorado Boulevard — The Main Street of Pasadena — over a mile long stretch from Pasadena City College to City Hall.

One center of gravity of the march was “Los Jornaleros del Norte,” a ‘day laborer band’ who performed from inside a moving truck during the entire march.

Today is January 8^th, 2026.

Things feel pretty rough. But it also feels like something’s shifting.

Two more people have been shot by the MAGA regime’s out of control forces of violence.

Yesterday, Renee Good was killed in Minnesota in what looks a lot like murder.

The two people in Portland today brings the number who we know have been shot by ICE or Customs and Border Patrol up to 16, with four fatalities, including Renee Good.

All of these are tragedies. Ms. Good left behind three children.

Many of us, myself included, are reluctant to comment on it, because of the tragedy.

But in this case, it’s also a political moment and we should recognize it.

I was hesitant to call it this, but it may be that Renee Good’s murder will be a George Floyd kind of moment, but this time featuring white people. I went ahead and just said those words because I later saw Heather Cox Richardson posting today, and she made the same point with different language.

For the first time she talked about what is Fascism. And she did it to point out that fascism requires setting up an “other” against whom “the people” can be rallied against.

Out of those 16, and I’ve put the link on my Substack and YouTube channels to the accounting, it appears that Ms. Good is the first white person.

And that is a political pivot moment.

Because the line of who is the other is has now been crossed by the violence of this regime. Because just like the Nazi Fascists, these MAGA Fascists have a racial divide that they ID with dog whistle phrases like “non legacy American.”

This regime is not smart, so they didn’t train and restrain their forces to prevent this murder of a white woman from happening.

But they’re instinctive enough in their authoritarianism to employ the fascist playbook: the way to square up the Regime’s use of force against a member of the white-people in-group to paint the victim as a traitor to that in-group. That is exactly what Trumpet and Noem immediately did: despite the facts being obviously otherwise.

They called her a ‘domestic terrorist,’ a ‘professional agitator,’ a member of a ‘radical left movement of violence and hate,’ and so on, even though those are in some cases self-contradictory.

Tonight it is still an open question how much success they will have with that.

I’d like to point out, that the pattern of violence that led to Ms Good’s death is one that has befallen black and brown people for generations. An eyewitness reported today that ICE officers gave Ms. Good conflicting instructions: orders to leave, and orders to get out of the car.

She followed the order to leave: and they killed her.

I join the calls for peaceful protest. We will better advance our cause for freedom and justice through non-violence. Also, notice how our progress is being accelerated by the bravery of Ms. Good’s neighbors who went out and caught it all on video. This is how we will throw them off.

Where do these murderous ICE agents come from?

A piece I encountered today that I’d like to share: Avner Less was a Jew who interrogated Adolf Eichmann before his execution for war crimes and for organizing the Holocaust. Mr. Less came away with this prophetic piece of writing:

“There are Adolf Eichmanns everywhere. They are all around us. They are latent in a democracy, but in a dictatorship of the left or right, they become deadly in an instant.”

This is where the ICE agents who murdered Renee Good came from. They’ve been all around us all the time, and now they’re unleashed.

But still, they cannot win.

Ultimately I believe we are too proud of a people; too well equipped with cell phones and internet connections; too committed to the entitlement of all to due process; and ultimately, yes, too well armed with more firepower per person than any people in the history of the universe.

So as awful as it feels right now, please care for yourself, please know that you’re not alone. There are millions of us who are working to take this back.

Things are already shifting in Congress. Signs of resistance. Too weak, yes, but growing. They’ve voted to prevent more action in Venezuela. They’ve voted to restore the Affordable Health Care subsidies.

They put back the plaque honoring the Capital Police for their heroism on January 6^th.

Yes, it’s too little. Yes, it’s nowhere near becoming law. Yes, it’s symbolic.

But it is happening. And it wasn’t before.

This is how it starts.

When we succeed, there will be a mess to clean up that can never be made whole: it will be missing people like Ms. Good.

We’ve been through dark periods before. Now is our time to take up our duty to make the world a better place. An old song is becoming newly relevant: Remember Ohio.

It’s possible you’ve never asked yourself whether there’s a better way to vote.
I’m here to argue that there is.

To be clear: I am not a voting expert. And that matters, because this field has been researched more than almost any other. There’s even been a Nobel Prize for it.

What I do know is this: America uses the oldest, dumbest voting method in the developed world. Almost no one else uses it. We barely think about it. We just do it.

It’s called “First Past the Post.” Yep, the way we vote: you pick one candidate; we count up the votes; and if no one gets a majority—which happens a lot—the person with the most votes wins.

That’s not a majority; that’s called a plurality.

Imagine if legislation passed with a plurality. It wouldn’t. It doesn’t.

But that’s how we choose presidents, senators, governors, and almost everyone else.

A few states have already moved on. Not blue states; mixed ones. Maine and Alaska use Ranked Choice Voting. On those ballots, you rank candidates: first choice, second choice, and so on. When they count votes, they check whether someone got a majority. If not, they eliminate the last-place candidate and redistribute those ballots based on second-choice rankings. Then they repeat until someone has a majority.

This produces more moderate winners. Look at the only two moderate Republican senators left: Maine and Alaska.

And, crucially, it produces someone with majority support.

Georgia, Mississippi and Louisiana use a different method: the runoff. They start with First Past the Post, but if nobody reaches a majority, they hold a second election between the top two. It’s expensive, but it guarantees a majority winner.

Now, here’s where things get wild:

Voting systems can fail in weird ways. There’s a Nobel-winning result called Arrow’s Impossibility Theorem, which basically says: no ranked voting system can satisfy all the “fairness” criteria you’d logically want.

Veritasium does a great deep dive on this.

However, the key point is this: even with any theoretical flaws, these systems work much better in real life than the one we use.

And we haven’t even touched on “score” voting, where you rate candidates on a scale—like customer surveys. Those methods are often more scientifically sound and measure something deeper than simple preference.

They measure consensus.

But amazingly, here’s a huge problem: experts disagree on which system matches what humans want.

Majority? Consensus? Something else?

If the experts can’t decide after decades of research, then I say: okay: yes!

Let us have each State choose. That’s what they’re there for right? Laboratories?

But let us forbid the one system everyone agrees is garbage: First Past the Post with a plurality.

This should be part of a new federal Voting Rights Act for All.

This is about Fairness!

We keep the Civil Rights Voting Act (what’s left of it, and we’ll come back to re-stacking the Supreme Court to fix what they’ve broken).

But let us add basic rights for everyone:
• No gerrymandering;
• A federal holiday for voting;
• Full accessibility;
• No financial or bureaucratic barriers to voting;
• And a requirement that every election is decided by either a majority or a consensus.

Now, a quick word about Georgia, Mississippi and Louisiana. Runoffs are actually intended there as a tool to block Black candidates. That is a real problem and I do not make light of it. But it’s also fading. Senator Raphael Warnock of Georgia proves it can be beaten.

Finally though, here’s the rub: the authoritarian movement threatening this country got power with only about 33% of Americans behind them.

Trumpet did not win a majority, but now he’s our President.

We’ll never know if he would have squeaked over the top in another system, but we shouldn’t suffer what we are suffering today without knowing that answer.

That’s the core of my argument.

If we want real representation—if we want government by We the People—then we need no gerrymandering, holidays, the rest of it: and we need majority or consensus voting to replace First Past the Post.

Nothing less is worthy of our democracy.

Music to go with the policy:

Today, Trumpet called for hanging members of congress for Treason.

Their supposed crime was posting a video reminding the military that illegal orders must be refused. It’s a powerful video.

My concern is simple: the President is laying the groundwork to use force to hold onto power in 2029.

I’ll point out that I wrote months ago over at ProjectLiberty2029.info that he would use the word traitor against members of congress, so I hope that lends credibility to my words today.

Here’s what I believe is his plan to use force.

1) He runs as Vice President. Most legal scholars are pretty convinced this is constitutional. His followers understand the strategy: after the election his running-mate resigns and Trumpet succeeds to a 3^rd term.

2) However, Trumpet actually expects to lose the general election. Like last time he lost, he claims Fraud. But unlike last time, he’s been preparing for 4 years to use force.

3) The strategy is then one of “Color of Authority:” he needs just enough pseudo-legal justification to keep his loyalists willing to risk using forcee.

4) He’s now rehearsing and preparing the pieces he didn’t have in place on Jan 6^th 2021.

5) The mechanics are like this:

(a) He issues preemptive pardons to solicit fake elector slates from as many states as possible.

(b) He deploys his forces to Washington DC: his “Quick Reaction Force” of 10,000 National Guard Troops, his pardoned January 6ers and their militias, and any regular military he can assemble into loyal battalions.

(c) He muddies the Posse Comitatus Act by pointing out that DC is not a state (irrelevant, but look for it).

(d) He “floods the zone” with accusations of cheating. The goal isn’t legal victory, it’s maintaining loyalty among those willing to act.

(e) AND! He labels patriotic members of Congress who respect the Will of the People as Traitors.

Under the Constitution, Article I, Section 6, members of Congress are immune from arrest: except for Treason.

So his forces will attempt to arrest and detain enough legislators to block certification of the real electors and approve fake ones instead.

In addition, there’s a critical hack they can use to stall and foment unknown levels of Constitutional uncertainty. I may be the first one to point this out.

The Constitution says the Vice President must open the Elector certificates.

Without the VP, Congress can’t count the votes.

JD Vance will still be VP on January 6^th, 2029, and he’s promised to do whatever it takes. He can just stay away to buy loyalists whatever time they need to pick off members of Congress for Treason.

This sounds like a bad screenplay.

But let us not be off guard for lack of imagination.

He’s already called a mob to the capital, already pardoned all of them, already started building a special guard force, already pressured the military into illegal actions abroad, already invaded our cities with federal forces, already talked about running as VP. And now he’s already calling Senators and Representatives Traitors.

There are off-ramps. He could die. He could be impeached and removed. He could resign, or not run, or lose the Republican primary, or the Supreme Court could say he can’t run as VP. He could lose his hold on his loyalists. He could get to January 6th and just give up.

But let us not plan on any of those fortunate possibilities.

Congress must prepare to defend itself. The Constitution give Congress exclusive authority over the Capital district.

Use that authority.

Work with the DC government and the governors of loyalist states to bring 20 thousand national guard troops to Washington DC for a siege that may last from the safe harbor date of December 12^th all the way to Inauguration day. The highest risk window is from January 3^rd when congress swears itself in to January 6^th.

The public must be ready as well. A peaceful, overwhelming presence in DC. A tent city with 50 thousand people or more, a mix of armed troops and unarmed civilians, on the Mall for weeks as a massive demonstration that his supporters can’t get through. All to insure a peaceful transfer of power.

I know how that sounds. Bat shitaki-mushroom crazy.

You may not believe it. And I feel like Cassandra repeating myself.

Just don’t forget January 6^th 2021.

Game out the 4 possibilities for yourself.

1. We prepare; he uses force; we protect Congress and the Constitution.

2. He prepare; he backs down; history commends our vigilance.

3. We don’t prepare; he doesn’t use force: we got lucky.

4. We don’t prepare; he does use force: we enter a dark, dark period of illegitimate government and potential dissolution of the United States itself.

That last outcome is unacceptable.

Yet we can prevent it with preparation.

Scottie on Star Trek once said, “fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.”

Let us resolve not to be fools on January 6^th.

Breaking News: The Epstein Files Transparency Act just set off an earthquake in Washington.

2 days ago, I said Trumpet was showing better cognition and game-sense than some people think, because on Sunday he switched from opposing the House vote to pretending to support it. That constitutes a tactical stall in the face of realizing he was going to lose. It was probably the smartest play possible.

What I didn’t predict was how quickly Congress would play back.

And today, Tuesday, some muscle memory may have at last returned to Congress.

They passed the bill he clearly did not want, and it was glorious.

It was Unanimous minus just 1 vote from Louisiana.

Louisiana, sorry, you seem to still have a representative willing to carry water for wealthy child sex abusers.

I mean, 427 to 1 in favor is amazing, and then Schumer took the House’s touchdown and kicked a field goal on top. He got Republican leadership to stand by and allow unanimous consent to deem the measure from the House already passed the moment it hits the Senate.

That’s the Ents “Releasing the River” on Saruman and his orcs of Orthanc.

So, a moment to breath the free air again, some things, like trafficking in under-age girls, get a near unanimous vote no in our Legislature.

But, now the cover-up goes back to the Executive Branch, which is where it’s been all this time anyway, because Trumpet can release whatever he wants whenever he wants to. This whole vote drama at the Congress has been used by this regime as a distraction from the protection racket going on under Trumpet and his Department of Justice.

I will be pleasantly surprised if this legislation changes what gets released about Trumpet allies because it has, you know it, loopholes.

I’ll give a quick explain of those and I’m going to add that there’s a significant typo, which you may not hear other’s address for you.

The bill is pretty simple: it’s only six pages long and has just three sections.

Section 1 is the name: The Epstein Files Transparancy Act. That’s it.

Section 2 is what must be released within 30 days.

Section 3 is what must be released 15 days after that.

Here’s where the problems lie:

Section 2 has three subsections: (a), (b) and (c.) OK?

Section (a) lists what we want released: emails, internal memos at DOJ, flight logs, plea agreements, institutional ties, etc.. Good stuff for Justice.

And! Section (b) prohibits any redactions for reputational harm or political sensitivity, Also Good Stuff.

But, Section (c) is the loophole bucket. Some are good: like protecting victim’s identities, no releasing child porn or death pictures. All good. But, the bad-faith loopholes are: no ongoing investigations or anything an Executive Order labels as national security or foreign policy. Giant, flucking, loopholes. Drive a tractor trailer of Epstein Files through those.

Finally, there’s a big typo.

Legislation often has typos, but this had to go through the discharge process, so it couldn’t get fixed along the way.

Section 3 requires a list of what was not released. Good.

But the typo comes in where it says they must release all government officials named or reference in any redacted materials, because the typo says quote no redactions permitted under subsection section (b) (1).

That should have said (c) (1).

Because (b) says what cannot use as a reason to hide things, remember?

So therefore, think back to Venn Diagrams, there’s nothing in the set of redactions under section (b), meaning the regime will later say, technically truthfully, “there are no redacted government names under Section 3.”

It’s a tiny bit of legal camouflage inadvertently included in this process.

But it’s a political win!

Perhaps even a defining one, because if Congress can remember to use these muscles to push the Epstein cover-up back to the President, perhaps they can awaken to stop more lawbreaking?

Perhaps.

For now let us celebrate putting the spotlight back to Trumpet and his DOJ: where it should have been the whole time.

But let us know the war goes on, because we should expect bad-faith obstruction by this regime to continue to protect powerful pedophiles, including, almost certainly, Trumpet himself.

Tonight, it’s November 17^th, 2025, and the Trumpet said the House should vote on releasing the Epstein files, and he said quote, we have nothing to hide, unquote.

Are you wondering what’s actually going on?

I’m Vector Hasting, author of ProjectLiberty2029, which is a blueprint on how to Restore and protect Liberty and Justice for All in America.

And I think I can shed some light on this maneuver.

This matters because it answers a central question we all keep asking: how incapable is he?

It is deadly important for us to continually assess this question, because based on his actions during the shutdown — things like taking a bulldozer to the White House, and shutting off SNAP benefits to make American’s go hungry while he hosts a Great Gatsby party with girls in martini glasses — all of that points toward someone who’s lost touch with reality. If that’s true, then he’s either (1) too deep in a bubble to know, or (2) too mentally diminished to understand, or some combination of both.

If he’s lost touch with reality, then he’ll be easier to beat because he won’t make the right moves. People who can’t read the board fluck it up, and they’re easier to beat.

However, this move stepping back from opposing a House vote on releasing the Epstein files, shows that he can still read the board. He realized he was going to lose this vote, and he realized how godawful it was going to look if he were the only one saying ‘don’t release the files.”

So he made the right tactical play: stall for time.

Here’s a rough outline of how he probably expects to play it.

The house will vote in a few days. It’s going to get overwhelming bipartisan support, especially with him pretending to patch things up with MTG. But after that, it goes over to the Senate, where it needs at least thirteen Republican Senators to break ranks and overcome the Filibuster.

(You think maybe he’s glad Republicans didn’t get rid of the Filibuster when he asked week before last?)

In the House, every member is up for reelection next year. But in the Senate, only 22 Republicans are up for reelection in 2026, and all but seven are considered safe red seats. That means Trumpet has margin to burn to defeat this in the Senate.

Even if the Senate smells death in the water and votes for the release, Trumpet still needs to sign it. He can invent some reason to do so, like “it doesn’t protect the victims enough,” or something. Then it needs to override a veto, and now that takes nineteen Republican Senators to flip. A very high wall.

But let me clarify one thing, because his assertion that he has nothing to hide also serves another function. It’s a lie. It’s meant to reassure people who are still vulnerable to his lies. We know he has something to hide from multiple angles: from what’s in the emails already released to the actions taken under color of Justice Department Authority to give Ghislaine Maxwell coddled ‘keep quiet’ treatment.

This move to stall for time and put a band-aid on losing this House vote tells us something sobering.

Despite the signs that he’s lost it, he still has working instincts for political survival. His bubble is not too thick, and his mind is not too weak. Not yet, at least.

And so our danger rises.

I believe the path he is planning includes him running as Vice President in order to succeed to a third term, and that he realizes he’s going to lose the actual vote, and so he’s relying on the use of Federal sanctioned violence on January 6th, 2029. That’s a scenario I’ll be unpacking in detail in upcoming videos.

I believe he will ultimately fail, but not before shredding any remaining sense of normalcy about our self-governance. I believe we have a better chance of surviving with less damage if we are clear eyed in preparing.

You’ve probably heard of Universal Basic Income. If there is one thing that might make the pain and horror of Trumpet 2.0 worth it, it will be if our remake in his aftermath delivers a UBI for America.

The proposal at www.FairAndShare.info is completed legislation waiting for elected officials and candidates to champion it.

And it’s about so much more than Income.

It’s about a new social contract that can bind our society together into a system of mutual growth and support that gives everyone a real opportunity to Prosper.

Why call this The Share?

Because every adult citizen receives a fixed percentage of All Income. It is literally a share of the whole—similar to a share of stock.

This is different from other UBI plans is its funding mechanism. The Share is paid for by a single, fair, equal tax on all income, replacing the current maze of loopholes and special treatment which result in rich and wealthy paying a lower rate in taxes than work-a-day people.

What are the details?

The Share Amount starts at $20,000 a year and goes out in twice-monthly checks to every adult US Citizen.

The Equal Tax rate starts at 29%.

Both adjust annually.

The Share rises with national income:

The Tax Rate rises or falls to hold the national debt at 100% of GDP.

(But that variance is less than a single percentage.)

People usually respond with strong approval; occasionally with skepticism.

The same questions often come up:

Will this cause inflation?

No. There is no borrowing, so there is no overstimulation. A Roosevelt Institute analysis of twelve UBIs shows this model yielding about 2.65% extra GDP growth with roughly 0.5% inflation.

Won’t this make people Lazy?

Humans have always built, created, invented, and contributed.

We live in a world shaped entirely by human effort.

A baseline income doesn’t erase ambition; it frees it.

Consider for yourself, what will you do with extra money? (Which, by the way, you have earned, see the moral reasoning later.)

There may be a lurking ‘otherism’ or even racism in thinking ‘others’ won’t use this money wisely.

Here too, research shows us that this is not the case.

Is this socialism?

There is no government ownership here. Nothing about The Share is socialist. It simply uses public policy to improve society.

While that’s something Social Democrats want, we’re not switching out of basic capitalism here.

We’re making capitalism better with a cleaner tax-and-share structure. We’re also fixing a fundamental flaw in Capitalism (more on that later).

If the Share needs a label, call it Fairism: everyone receives an equal share of the economic activity we all make possible.

And we do make it possible. This is why in a larger sense this is a moral and rightful share which is earned by We the People.

When we participate in our civil society we make economic stability which enables the engines of capitalism to function. We do our part to make civil society work every day all the time: when we wait at a red light, or queue at a store, or help a neighbor.

But this larger civil society which which makes this strong economic foundation is being exploited by a tiny few for disproportionate profit.

Who wins?

Eighty percent of Americans come out ahead: they receive more in Share benefits than they pay in additional taxes.

The top 20% pay more. The number starts at 20% because current law exempts income above $179,100 from Social Security and Medicare taxes.

Even then, most pay only a few thousand dollars more, and in exchange, they gain a stable, healthier society

The wealthy still profit; they simply pay the same rate everyone else pays. Today they enjoy preferential treatment—capital gains taxed far below wage income.

The Share ends that distortion.

Won’t labor costs rise too high?

Too high for what?

The Share solves capitalism’s most distorted market: labor.

A market requires the option to walk away. Workers don’t have that option today; they are coerced by the threat of poverty.

That is not a free market—it is an oligopsony (a market in which there are only a few buyers).

The Share creates the first genuinely free labor market in industrial history.

Workers can refuse unfair pay.

Capitalism becomes sustainable.

It is what Capitalists should want. Those who don’t are seeking personal advantage, not the moral high-ground of any kind of ‘economic system of freedom.’

What’s the risk of changing the status quo?

Few people today want to defend our status quo.

It’s too broken.

For centuries, concentrated wealth has forced most people to rent their lives from a tiny minority who inherited land, resources, and legacy privileges.

This was tolerable only when most people could still accumulate modest security through a lifetime of work.

That era is over.

Oligarchic consolidation is ending the old bargain. Without reform, we face a future where housing, water, food, medicine, and labor itself become price-fixed by monopoly.

This is not defensible, not moral, and not stable.

The most rational repair is to ensure everyone holds a stake in the economy.

Trickle-down has failed for forty years. The data are clear.

The moral imperative is equally clear.

Humanity is entering a steady-state era because our population is leveling off. Add to that sunlight, wind, and geothermal energy and we are ready for a century of abundance and shared prosperity.

We must turn away from the perils of dominion and wealth gaps that are gulfs larger than the oceans.

If we intend to live morally on this earth, then we must bind our fates together.

No one should have too little.

All of us should contribute equally.

In the Lord’s Prayer, only two unconditional requests are allowed: deliver us from temptation, and give us our daily bread. And we are commanded to act “on Earth as it is in Heaven.”

Should we not do our part to bring a piece of that Heaven to Earth?

We can do this by giving us all together “The Share.”

It is a simple as daily bread.

Eleven score and nine years ago, our First President warned Our Nation, like a prophet of old, of the “expedients of party to acquire influence.”

And now it has come to pass as Washington feared, that despotic partisans are agitating the public with false alarms fomenting riots and insurrections and inviting influence and corruption through the channels of party passions.

But Today…

… and Tomorrow…

... in this Hour….

... and in the next, and the next after that…

We the People will stand.

We will look to our Flag. We will look to the goodness of what we have built around us. We will call to each other.

We will call to the earth and to the Heavens…

… and we will say... “Enough.”

We will repeat great words:

We hold these truths to be self evident: that all of us are born equal, with unalienable Rights, and that chief among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

We hold that there are Universal Rights for All Human Beings, and that chief among these rights is Dignity.

And! And. We have not just Rights, but Duties.

We have a Duty to exercise our Rights without taking away from the Rights of others.

We say these Great Words knowing that once again our time has come to march toward a better future.

For once again, a long train of abuses and usurpation has pursued an unwavering design bent upon reducing We The People to a rule of Despotism.

And because we now demand the overthrow of Un-Just Laws and Un-Fair practices and Un-Wise and Corrupted Leadership from which We the People have too long endured, we must Present to the World our vision of our new government: our new declaration.

(Consider these demands, add or embellish in your life and your community.)

We demand an End to the Unitary Presidency:

for it must no-longer be the seat of Tyranny for Dominion over the United States. This may mean having the people elect, but may also mean having the Courts nominate, our Attorney General.

(Voting takes an amendment, Court appointment requires only a law.)

We Demand a Universal Basic Share of All Income for all adult citizens:

for we must be free to our labor without the fear and coercion of being without Dignity or even Life itself.

We Demand a Wealth Gap Tax on wealth that is over 1,000 times the wealth of a regular American:

for we must no longer suffer our youth trapped in a world of growing impoverishment for the enrichment of a few.

And we Demand that Tax pay for Universal Healthcare in America.

We Demand a Bill of Rights For All Voters that makes election day a Holiday and that guarantees we vote with our neighbors, and that we shall be represented only by candidates who win either a majority approval, or a majority consensus of the Will of the People

In every one of these demands, we must also admit our own responsibility for these Un-Wise and Un-Just practices.

For too long we have looked away from Injustice. Too many times have we asked what can our Country do for Us.

But these failures were not born of ill will. We failed to make things the best because we saw Patience as a Virtue.

We were like children gave our trust to villains.

Now our time has come and we must awaken to this Great Work.

We will reach out and grab the hands of our neighbors. We will pull ourselves up from the ditch and return again to the path of Righteousness.

We will forgive those who were misled.

And we will punish the ones who misled them.

We will defeat the Fear and the Fear Mongers who traffic in lies to gain Power.

We shall make our country worthy of the name the Land of The Free.

And we will give answer, once more, to a great and eternal question set forth eight-score and one years ago, and we will say “Yes,” a nation conceived in Liberty and Justice can Long Survive, and shall not Perish from this Earth while We The People still Stand.

It starts at $20,000 but goes up if all income goes up: it’s a fixed percentage, around 85% of a billionth of the US GDP.

It’s paid for by a Fair Tax on All Income: this prevents the Wealthy from avoiding taxation the way they do today.

If you really want to do what Zohran Mamdani suggests: Make billionaires “play by the same rules as the rest of us.”

When I see the pundits smirking over Trumpet’s post that Republicans did so poorly in the election because he wasn’t on the ballot, I’m afraid.

They laugh and say “He’s never going to be on the ballot again.”

That’s just Wrong.

Saying that gives us a false sense of complacency.

Please stop.

Trumpet says he’s running all the time. His people like Bannon say the motive part out loud: he needs to be serving in 2029 or they’re all going to jail.

Trumpet is still the leader of the cult-of-personality MAGA GOP.

That gives them motive and opportunity.

Let me unpack the means.

I understand this is going to be an anxiety and anger provoking essay, and I hope you’ll realize I’m just a messenger here.

The simple path is what he’s said: he’ll run for Vice President. Then whoever ran for President will step aside and he’ll ascend to the Presidency again.

At this point you may want to yell: “No! 22^nd Amendment!”

I understand, but it doesn’t say what you may think it does.

Some more of you may now yell “Aha! 12^th Amendment!”

But because the 22^nd isn’t what you thought, the 12^th doesn’t help us.

This is well researched: I’ll put links at the end.

Of course there will be a court challenge to him running, but he’s likely to win even with a Supreme Court that isn’t bending backwards for him.

We can hope he might die of old age, but we better not be planning on it.

If he is on the ballot, and if he loses - and both things seem likely - then on January 6^th, 2029, he will be able to summon a mob and the Quick Reaction Force National Guard that they’re now building, to come to Washington DC to overthrow what he will call the “traitors who are stealing your country... again.”

I’ll go into detail on what I expect that may look like in a future post.

But it is bat-shitaki-mushroom crazy.

I’m sorry.

Despite our wins in November, we’re not out of this thing yet.

Here’s the pin I want to put out now: DJT can run again, and he’s told us multiple times how. It’s the Vice President who then succeeds to President gambit.

Let’s get the 22^nd and 12^th Amendments out of the way.

The Constitution, Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 uses the construction “No Person except (some qualifications) … shall be eligible to the Office of the President.”

And the 12^th Amendment goes the same way: “But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.”

Sadly, the 22^nd Amendment is completely different: “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.”

So the prohibition in the 22^nd is against being elected, not serving. Because it doesn’t preclude serving, the 12^th amendment doesn’t apply (because they’re not “constitutionally ineligible to the office,” only to election to the office.)

Imagine a scenario where Barack Obama was Speaker of the House, and the President and Vice President died at the same time. Obama would succeed to the Presidency: no problem with the 22^nd Amendment.

Yes, it’ll be challenged in court as not being what the framers of the Amendment intended. But that’s a hard sell, especially since there was apparently an early draft of it that included prohibition of being able to serve as well as get elected, but the final text didn’t have that service prohibition. Which indicates pretty strongly that their intention was to only stop them from being elected.

Implications:

Once you accept that they now have motivation, opportunity, and with the VP-to-Pres hack, they also have the means.

So the crime is coming.

Assuming he doesn’t die of natural causes, the motivation for his backers to continue to back him is that he’s the only one who can pull off the violent coup that will be necessary to keep them all out of jail.

I imagine he proceeds as follows:

He teases this idea from now until the midterms. That’s a way of ‘grooming’ the nation and his followers by lightly touching on it.

When the midterms clobber them, he’ll say what he said this time: “It’s because I wasn’t on the ballot.”

At some point he’ll announce he’s going to do this thing: he’ll run for the Republican Nomination for President (there’s no amendment against that, though there may be a court challenge, perhaps he loses it, but see the Supreme’s rulings in Trump v. USA and decide what you really believe.)

Like last time, he walks away with the nomination without even running, and that’s assuming some candidate is willing to cross him and run.

At the convention in the middle of the summer, with only 3 months for court challenges left, he picks his surrogate - let’s call that JD - to be the token Presidential candidate.

They run the general election (I imagine Trump’s name is bigger on all the advertising.)

There will be a second court challenge, but with just 3 months to go, it can be punted or whatever, or even decided: the language is in Trumpet’s favor.

Assuming the courts don’t somehow stop this, Trump is on the ballot on Nov 7^th, 2028.

If he wins (unlikely) then there’s the chance that JD would double-cross him.

This was my original objection: feasibility of the heist at the end.

But then I realized that while he was President, Trumpet can give Seal Team 6 a preemptive pardon for assassinating JD if JD double-crosses Trumpet.

And Trumpet can stack that: Ranger team 6 is pardoned for assassinating Seal Team 6 if they don’t go through with it.

And Trumpet tells JD all this. Heck, he shows them loading JD engraved bullets right before the oath ceremony.

It’s just every day mobster politics.

However, odds are pretty strong Trumpet loses. And badly.

Then they re-run the January 6^th 2020 playbook.

But this time they have pre-pardoned rioters and National Guard Quick Reaction Forces and maybe even 1 or 2 battalions of Trumpet loyalists in the military.

You can see already how bat-shitaki-crazy this new Jan 6^th 2029 is likely to be if we have a losing DJT on the ballot.

Which is why no one should mock it.

We need to take it deadly seriously, because down this road lies violence and the threat of violence with the ultimate prize of power over the United States of America.

Which I will cover in another video. Actually, it will take a series of them.

Finally:

We’re ultimately going to win, because they cannot hold America, land of a half a Trillion guns, with just 30% of the population, a Quick reaction .

But. They can make it very painful, and we need to not mock or smirk at the idea of him on the ballot in 2028.

We need to shed the idea that we can have a completely peaceful return to Liberty and Justice for All.

That means looking clear-eyed at the strategic and tactical moves this regime may take to preserve its power.

With careful planning, which should emerge as consensus among those of us resisting this regime, we can maximize our chances of success with a minimum of violence, where hopefully any such violence is caught on camera as coming from their side.

I will point out once again, that this coming battle over January 6th 2029 is another reason why if Democrats run on a Universal Basic Share of All Income, we will have a better outcome, because such a promise is achievable at the national level, better for 80% of Americans, controls the national debt, and makes the powerful pay a tax to support it that they cannot avoid.

Such a policy offers so much security to regular Americans that it will drain enthusiasm for using and participating in armed force by the 30% who are still just in love with Trumpet.

It will not only reduce our pain in the short term, but it will insure our gain in the long term.

I hope you did too.

I’d like to discuss a couple of points:

Firstly, it was such a refreshing reprise of Obama level rhetoric.

And Mamdani does it in the same kind of historic way: just as Obama was the first black president... here we have an Indian Muslim from Uganda becoming mayor of Jewish and Catholic New York City.

Only in America can we get this!

And he was so unapologetic about his ethnic background he went on to use Arabic in his speech.

And if that wasn’t enough, he then ran his philosophical background up the flag-pole calling himself a Socialist Democrat right there in front of national television.

We already hear people criticizing him all over the map because… take your pick from the spaghetti on the wall. ‘He’s going to to saddle the Democrats with too much radicalism.’ No wait, ‘he’s going to be too off-putting to America, because you know, I mean, surely, you know… a bearded Arab man as spokesperson for the Democratic Party.’

I mean, they can dog whistle Zohran in the mis-info echo cave for years. Soros, anyone?

I believe all those criticisms are incorrect. I believe America has mostly moved on, and the dog-whistle problem we’re in is a 33% problem. That’s the number of Americans who voted in the Trumpet.

And Trumpet’s numbers are down to the point where it’s just those people. And many of them — the actual voters that voted — are bailing on him. He’s lost a huge numbers, especially Hispanics and young people who voted for him out of hope that he would fix problems like inflation.

But Trumpet has only made those things worse.

Mamdani’s amazing speech is going to be studied for a long time.

The issue that I am concerned about is not him or what’s in the speech, but what may be taken away from it because it has got slogan all over it.

This is NOT a criticism of Mamdani at all! To his huge credit he buckles down on the promises that he made explicitly at the end of his speech: and with call-and-response from his audience to boot!

He is not dodging or retreating to sloganism. He is deliberately tilting at the billionaire windmills, because he clearly knows and has demonstrated with his election that the power of the people can equal the power of the wealthy.

However, I do fear that other politicians will take away from his performance something less than an ironclad will to make Change. I fear they will see these slogans - Change and Hope - as the key to their campaigns to get power.

My fear is that we will see the Democrats feel their power from this election and go forward with sloganism and not with the actual promises like Mamdani has done.

Now, Mamdani’s has a significant issue with his bold promises because he probably lacks the power to deliver them (at least in a single term). But it seems that a broad swath of the public understands these challenges. And because everyone understands this, then if he gets 1 out of 4, that’ll be okay. If he gets 2 out of 4, that’d be more than OK. And if he can get progress on more, it’ll feel pretty awesome.

Mamdani is also apparently capable of explaining these issues in ways the public can understand, much like Obama.

But back to the sloganism and the coming dynamics in the next two election cycles where the Republicans are going to be trying to defend the indefensible.

Bill Clinton made the prediction that after George W Bush’s presidency, the 2008 election would be a “Refrigerator Election:” meaning the Democrats could run a refrigerator and it would be elected.

Democrats look likely to feel their power from this election and prepare to run their typical campaigns. They will be full of safe slogans, and not the hard work that needs to be done to restore Liberty and Justice in 2029.

They will probably add Change and Hope to something like “Restore,” and call it a campaign.

If they do this and decide not to do the hard work of defining their policies, because that involves risk of fracturing an unruly coalition, then we will miss the historic opportunity to fix the cycle that brings us despots and incompetence and corruption for government.

Mamdani makes the call in this speech:

“We refuse to let (the billionaire class) dictate the rules of the game anymore. They can play by the same rules as the rest of us.”

I say let us embrace that call!

Let us not simply name it Socialism, where the means of production, distribution and exchange should be owned or regulated by the government.

Let us call this “Fairism.”

Fairness, I argue, includes the social well-being of Socialism, but highlights a fundamental moral rationale: we can only hold society together if we maintain fairness at all levels.

And such fairness will bring about the support and security of all classes because not being supported and secure at the bottom, or anywhere in the spectrum of society, it not fair.

Let us answer his call with a set of fair rules for all that insure life can work out for all of us.

I believe that’s also a winning strategy: most of us will simply see Fairism as a good thing in itself. Those who don’t (our 33% problem) will have a hard time explaining themselves, and therefore a harder time getting elected.

I hope that the Democrats will get specific about these fair proposals.

Whichever direction we head to from here, that speech was quite the moment.

I hope to reassure you that they are not, and to help explain why it seems like nothing is happening right now, but that, in fact, it is.

You’ve heard of of fight or flight? Then you know there’s that third option: and that is freeze.

But we’re human beings, and we don’t freeze like deer or possum.

Yet we freeze all the time. If you’ve had a bad coworker or housemate or neighbor. We don’t go hit them or scream at them. We don’t want to quit our job and move away. Those would be the fighting or fleeing options.

Generally (your mileage may vary) we don’t.

Instead, we buckle down and we grin and bear it.

That’s our freeze. And it’s a rational human-strategy play: we avoid the risk of losing in a fight, but we’re not giving up by fleeing. We’re biding our time.

We’re planning (because we’re humans) and that’s our purpose: to wait for the right moment to change things.

So we should all understand that we’re not directly fighting, we’re not fleeing, and we’re not exactly frozen.

We’re preparing.

It’s late October 2025: we’re protesting which is slowly expanding our numbers. There were millions more of us in No Kings 2.0 than there were in 1.0.

Let your mind focus on what we’re trying to achieve.

What we want is a functioning constitutional republic that protects Freedom and Justice for all of us.

We have a long, long, long cultural muscle memory on how we govern ourselves. We know that we do not have a direct say: we’re a republic. We vote every two years for our representatives, and they run our government. They get a two year chance, and then we can vote them out. That’s our system.

And yes, it is broken.

Our election was in November 2024 and we as a nation blew it. We allowed 33% of our citizens to vote these tyrants into power, and now they’re exploiting the broken parts of our system to install themselves forever. That’s their plan. Our damned conundrum is we have to let them grow stronger until the rules say we get to vote them out in November 2026 and 2028.

We want a functioning Constitutional Republic that protects Freedom and Justice for All of us.

Now, of course: the correct tactical answer in our Constitution to a fascist authoritarian and arguably mad president is to Impeach and remove him.

The fact that this is not happening is Exhibit A in why our Constitutional system is broken.

A few more words here about these three modes: fighting, preparing, and fleeing.

Most of us can’t directly fight: but some are: there’s hundreds of here’s a partial list of lawsuits, for example.

To those of us who are not positioned to fight: let us prepare. Build your community to strengthen our will for the window of attack.

These No Kings marches? They’re not fighting, no they’re not storming the beaches at Normandy.

But they are transporting the troops to England to prepare for the attack.

We are preparing for the challenging voting environment which we are going to face in 2026 and 2028.

But Finally:

Do not Flee.

Some of us will be falling prey to a particular kind of fleeing. It’s one we do in the privacy of our mind and in the low stakes conversations with the people around us.

You may have done it a moment ago when you read my words about voting.

This is one of their weapons.

They are spreading the fear that you won’t be able to vote, or that voting will be stolen.

This is the Big Lie.

They use the Big Lie both as a weapon to galvanize their people to outrage when they don’t get what they want, and to demoralize those of us who oppose them to make us easier prey.

Do Not Surrender to the Big Lie.

It is not only surrender, but a form of fleeing. It’s a really easy kind of fleeing, because we don’t have to sell our things and move.

We just have to give up hope.

It’s a moment where one may feel a sense of agency, but you will pay for it with a lifetime of hopeless misery for you and your descendants.

The enemies of our Freedoms are actively trolling us, our families and friends on social media with this careful message.

They are making people think they thought this up all on their own. Do you feel like you’re smart to be thinking this? Do you think those who don’t believe it are suckers?

Or do you get that attitude from your family and friends?

Push back!

Because the irony is, of course, that they engineered this viral message to steal our hope and seal their victory. And if they succeed in the end, it will be those who believed this message who were the suckers who helped them win.

Our Job #1 is to not give up hope. That is our strength.

Hope in the future.

If your friends cannot muster hope for themselves, then call on them to do do it for their children. Know that someday someone whose hope remained will grab the flag of Liberty and march it to the hilltop to show the enemies of Freedom that We the People still Stand. That the enemies of Freedom are the ones defeated.

Job #2: be loud.

Go to the protests. Tell your friends. Show the world and the rest of us that we are getting ready. We are building up our steam.

Job #3 is to quietly build your circle and your community. We must do this so that when the time comes to vote, and when the time comes to protect that vote, we are part of We the People: ready for the fight and sacrifice.

I do not wish to add to your burden, so I hope this will instead add to your power: let us consider what we will be demanding after MAGA falls.

It is vital to form these demands now because they also informs back into how we need to fight them to win.

If we will achieve a better tomorrow, then please consider these words.

What I write here is lent to me through the great shoulders of those who have come before. Thinkers and doers going back to before our nation began.

In this moment of peril, please join me on a journey and a purpose of improving a blueprint for restoring freedom and justice for all.

Here you find the blog that is a companion to the Wiki at ProjectLiberty2029.info.

There you will find specific guidance and proposals for firstly, winning back our country from fascists, and secondly, after we have thrown them down for securing our liberty and a world of justice for the future.

I believe we cannot wait until after the war for our freedom to declare the principles for which we stand.

In fact, we may not succeed in throwing off the yoke of their tyranny without first declaring our vision.

We must somehow coalesce around what we want, not just what we do not want: without this we run the risk of becoming Occupy Wall Street.

Instead of amorphous feelings and protests, we need a specific map that can point to our north star. We need a beacon to help guide us in choosing our champions, our future leaders, and our actions.

With this joint vision, we shall be able to overwhelm the MAGA fascist project with mass opposition.

This is necessary not only for victory, but for sealing victory. They are wily and cunning and have no shame. Even after their defeat, they will attempt every trick to obfuscate and hide and come back to win again another day.

We need to know where we are headed so that we can plan what we need to keep and what we need to destroy.

For it is of little advantage to us to regain the kingdom if we have just burned the bridge to a promised land.

On the scale of history, you and I and almost all of us are going to be lost soon enough.

But together, you and I and millions others may come together to make a capital “W” kind of We, as in “We the People.”

As part of “We the People,” we the regular folk do have a chance to endure across history.

We have a chance in our collective works not to be lost

But in order to endure, we must now create the right kind of change.

A change now is inevitable because what is happening around us now cannot continue. An old adage observes: that which cannot continue will not.

In order to be the authors of change and not its victims, we - that big capital “We” - must demand it.

For we face peril from even our saviors. We may be lost again and again if we let them define some kind of generic “Change” for the upcoming elections.

We must say exactly what we demand, because if we do not exactly articulate our demands in a form that can become exact laws and exact changes to the Constitutions, the Presidency, the Supreme Court, the social contract of Capitalism, and on down the line, then our politicians will ask again for our votes…

… they will point to some complicated plan...

… they will have some slogans like “Restore America,” or “Renewal,” or “Dignity,” or some other pithy thing that polls well.

And without a specific ask by We the People, they will almost without a doubt deliver thousands of pages and millions of words of legislation that We the People will have no chance of understanding.

And they may even believe that they know better and that in the compromises hidden within that pile of law they have what is practical and what is in our best interests at heart.

But it will not be true.

In that after-the-election law-pileup there will be buried a betrayal waiting to fail in its promise. As another adage goes: old age and treachery will always defeat youth and enthusiasm.

Without words that we can all hope to comprehend, we will not attain a durable reform of government into an instrument that protects our liberties through Justice for All.

And our hopes will be dashed.

Some of you who are still reading may be resisting the idea that we should entertain such high hopes for durable Justice at all.

On many days I also feel that pain: the pain that comes from feeling that hope itself is a torture because we seem to always find it betrayed.

But it is not our place to be eternal. We all must accept that piece of today that we can build, because we cannot live long enough to stand at the end of history and see how she concluded.

And yet: here we stand here at a fulcrum of history.

At this turning point we must do that which is given to us. For what we succeed or fail at will determine a course toward a concentrated, corrupting power and ruin, or toward a better and more egalitarian and diverse future.

What happens now will be written about for hundreds, if not thousands of years.

Will they write that we gave up? Will they write that we were the bad guys because we opposed fascism? If that is what they will write, then we will have lost.

Or…

Will they write that we rose to the occasion? Will the children of tomorrow be learning in a school where they are taught not to be afraid?

Will they be taught that might does not make right? That it must only be used to make good on what is right. Will they be taught they must be always vigilant against those who would bring about tyranny and fascism? If that is what they are taught, then we will have won.

It is not just up to any single one of us. It is up to us together.

The togetherness that makes We the People.

It is We the People who must fight to bring down this tyranny and build up a better America.

And so you face a choice to take your moment of action, this moment of history, and give up. Or you can join with the millions, like I do, to say, no, I will not go gentle into that goodnight.

There is a word for us: we are patriots.

When we make the Pledge of Allegiance, we understand the words with “Liberty and Justice for All” to mean what it says.

Another word for us is the grassroots. And what are the grassroots, but the living foundations and the underpinnings of life itself?

We may also be Democrats, Independents, the un-Republicans.

I am of the conviction that somehow, through the many layers of who we are, we must coalesce and come together on a legal language for reforming our laws and our Constitution, where that language is simple enough for regular people - for We the People - to understand.

And so I here make my ask and my offer for you to join in supporting putting forth a version of that language.

I have an initial set of proposals on the wiki at ProjectLiberty2029.info.

There’s much more coming. This is from work I have done over the past eight years. The material comes from two previously self-published book-length works, but I believe it now must be on a wiki where a wider community can dissect and amend them.

The work I’ve done is to create them, and the work I’m doing now is to update and transfer them to the wiki. It’s all very time consuming.

I would be grateful for any support, sharing these posts, messaging, engaging on social media. Of course, a paid subscription here on Substack or on Patreon would be amazing.

There’s also a need for help on the wiki: not just to read the material but to buckle down and volunteer your expertise. That may mean making amendments to what’s there. It may mean spreading them among your colleagues.

The ultimate help will come from those who are in office or who seek office, federal or state, but primarily federal representatives and senators.

To you I make the final ask. Please adopt these proposals or fix them with us and then adopt them. Please communicate the strategies we need under the Strategies of Winning

I believe that we much better than even odds prevailing in this struggle for Freedom through the fog of war and fire that bears down upon us not unlike the cannons of the English upon the fields of the revolution 250 years ago.

It will take courage. In many ways, a different kind of courage for a modern conflict.

I believe that our struggle this time will be mostly peaceful.

I also believe that it will be more honest.

Because today we know - you know and I know - that We the People really is meant to mean all of us. Not just the rich, not just the landed, not just the whites, not just the men.

Today we know that All of us are born with inalienable rights to Dignity and Justice for All.

In the hopes of that better tomorrow, I ask you for your support, and for your participation.

And I ask you not to lose hope. I ask you to keep faith with the proposition that our nation, founded on Liberty and Justice for All, shall not perish from this earth.

Not while We the People still defend her.

I believe in America.

Of course, she’s never been perfect. No.

And yes, she’s been awful to many.

But, if you consider the alternatives, she’s usually been on the better side.

And especially since the New Deal. Since Franklin Delano Roosevelt laid out the Four Freedoms:

Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Worship were two, and we’ve had those until now.

But he also called for Freedom from Want and Freedom from Fear.

If you are reading this, you too know we are living through history.

History will barely remember any of us.

I expect my part to be small. Yet I hope to share that small part with you.

Yes, I believe in America.

I believe in a nation founded on Freedom. One that strives to give those four freedoms to of us.

We live in a world of abundance. Freedom from Want and from Fear are possible.

But the Trumpet and his handlers and minions want to separate us from that.

They have a chance to succeed.

But I believe they will fail.

There are too many of us.

All we must do is remember Benjamin Franklin and hang together to avoid hanging apart. We must use every trick of our consciousness to avoid buying the fear they are selling, and keep up our resistance.

I believe America shall win back our country from these fascists.

And I know that when the day comes that light shines on the destruction they have wrought, that there will be many things we can never fix.

Lives that ended early.

Trust that was broken.

Scars that can never heal.

We must take this pain and make service to it.

We must echo Lincoln in our time. We must build back with wisdom we have gained from our transgressions.

We must renew our promise that our nation, conceived of in Liberty, shall not yet perish from this Earth, not so long as We the People still stand.

If you want an intro to me, you found it!

I am Vector Hasting, author of ProjectLiberty2029, a blueprint on how to take back our freedom from this fascist, authoritarian regime, and to then secure Liberty and Justice for All here in our Beloved United States of America.

There are two distinct, but interconnected steps: Defeat and Rebuild.

I explore these by being mostly serious, but also silly. The silly is important because we need to increase our numbers, and all those frogs help us throw all the spaghetti and kitchen sinks we can find at this problem.

Sometimes I will sound Scary, like when I talk about the bonkers insane troop standoff that’s coming at us on January 6th, 2029.

I will also be Reassuring, like when I talk about why we’re going to win: it’s because we just have overwhelming math in our favor.

And I’ll be Wonky, ‘cause, that’s my inner muse.

My background includes a lifetime of software engineering.

So, yeah, I’m a techy wonky engineer fixer type.

And it turns out that software and law are very similar. Both programming and law are sets of logical rules that give instruction on how to things should operate.

In computers, those instructions run on precise processing chips.

In law, those instructions run on much less predictable processors. We mostly think of judges, prosecutors, & legislatures. But crucially, it also includes every single one of us. We use the rules of law as best we can to govern our own choices.

Can I turn right on red here? Can I protest here?

That common allegiance to law is one of our strengths as a country. And proposed laws form a crucial part of what I am about here.

I will be unpacking a lot of material here on this channel. This includes laws and plans for action that are on the wiki site. It’s a wiki, because I hope many people will participate in making these proposals better.

It is important to add the following: I’m just a mortal human, and I’ll be making mistakes. My tone may seem severe at times. But I am inviting a community here to help with the proposals, even if it is only making comments.

So if I ever sound disrespectful because I’m criticizing something you’ve written, I apologize. It is not my intent, it’s my fast-moving and intense passions.

Let me say that again, because it’s important.

We are in this together.

If my ego or my ignorance is putting you off, then I am sorry for my fault in that.

And I ask you to help me with comments to do better.

Of course, sometimes through discourse we may find that one or the other of us (including possibly myself) was right and had not really given cause for offense.

Then the words “sorry” will mean “sympathy.” (It’s often useful to realize we use sorry for both sympathy and apology, and sometimes it gets us wound up the wrong way.)

Many times, we may find ourselves in an honest disagreement, and I will do so with as much respect for your Dignity as I can, and look for healing when I fall short.

For the truth is always better discovered together, and that requires trust.

As long as you are supporting Freedom, if I fall short of helping to build community with you, I beg you help me do a better job reaching out.

However, those who support this MAGA regime, or who seek to troll for fun, or who cannot be turned from despair while the rest of us apply ourselves to this battle, then you may find yourself unwelcome here.

(Keep in mind, though, for all of us, there will come a day when we will need reconciliation across this nation.)

And for those of us fighting this, I am always humbled by what so many people are doing.

In that vein, I hope you will find what I offer here to have some wisdom.

If you watch or read me for a while, you may also sense that I often think a little differently.

The proposals I’m offering reflect this.

For example, it’s late October 2025, have you yet heard a plan for how to remove the Attorney General from the power of the President? There are a few voices I’ve found on the edges of legal academia calling for it. But where’s the traction?

Why isn’t this more of a mainstream demand?

It’s a strange grip of orthodoxy because 95% of us live in states that, unlike the Federal Government, do not have a unitary Executive branch because the Attorney General is not appointed by the governor.

The framers of the Constitution debated this point, and they were well warned that this unitary executive was a “baby tyrant” just waiting to grow up.

But now it has.

Let me round out a few things you might want to know about me.

In addition to always being a programmer, I’ve also been a para-legal for over a decade. I fell into that because I was doing the computer support for a law office that was saving people’s homes from foreclosure after the securitized trust breakdown. We were doing it without bankruptcy, but as those foreclosing forces managed to close off the legal remedies we were using, our practice shrank. I stayed on and took up slack doing paralegal work. (Including a lot of bankruptcies.)

I have also lived in the past: my wife and I lived in a remote village in Transylvania for two years back when the 21st century started. (One year was on a Fulbright Grant.) Back then it was a place that was so remote there were no running water, no telephones, and peasants used waterwheels to grind their grain and pound their felt, and washed their clothes in the river.

It was like living in Hobbiton. While there was some ignorance, there was plenty of grace and lots of lessons to me in how we all used to live before modernity took us over.

It’s the way our founders lived. I came home to America with renewed patriotism and insight into the way our earliest founders lived and how that must have affected their thinking.

I’m also a father, a husband, and a maker.

And, I’ve been brought quite low: I had meningitis when I was four. It left me blind in one eye, and it may have been the root of an early onset of the kind of vestibular disability that’s more common in people’s 80’s and 90’s. I fought that for over a decade, and then last year caught long-Covid. I have fought my way back to health over those years, but it’s been a mighty struggle.
